Lyko invests in storage solution from SSI Schaefer
Lyko Group AB, omnichannel specialist for hair care and beauty products from Scandinavia, relies on intralogistics specialist SSI Schaefer to implement its new automated distribution center in Sweden.
Components of the turnkey project include the high-performance Cuby shuttle system, ergonomic workstations and the Wamas logistics software. Lyko is achieving continuous and rapid growth in the Swedish and Norwegian markets. Coping with the strong growth, a strategy for geographical expansion and the large number of articles, as well as maintaining the high level of customer service, were decisive factors for Lyko to make the warehouse processes more efficient.
SSI Schaefer will build a 10,000 m² logistics center for Lyko, including a 5-aisle shuttle system that will supply Lyko customers with around 50,000 different beauty products. The goods-to-person workstations will be installed according to the ergonomics@work! The storage areas will be connected by a bin and carton conveyor system. The warehouse processes will also be controlled and monitored using SSI Schaefer's Wamas logistics software.
Anna Persson, Logistics and Purchasing Manager at Lyko, explains: "SSI Schaefer provided us with a strong intralogistics concept that offers a high degree of flexibility. This, along with excellent teamwork and cooperation, were the key reasons for choosing SSI Schaefer as the supplier of our new logistics center in Vansbro." The go-live of the facility is planned for early 2020.
