Martin Schrüfer,

"Significantly increased trend towards e-commerce"

"In terms of business development, I expect 2022 to be characterized by continued high demand for automation solutions. ... The reasons for this are, on the one hand, the shortage of skilled workers in intralogistics and the personnel-related restrictions due to protective measures against Covid. At the same time, the trend towards e-commerce, which has been significantly intensified by the pandemic, is also generating increased interest in innovative solutions for picking and dispatch production down to batch size 1, especially in the B2C segment. The Inther Group is excellently positioned in these areas, for example with its unique, robot-supported automation solution GRIPP (Gantry Robotic Intelligent Piece Picker). I am therefore convinced that we can continue to achieve solid growth targets.

In general, we will have to take greater account of climate protection, digital transformation and demographic change in future product developments and combine them in our solutions. These innovations will be flanked by further developments in the software sector. Sensor technology and artificial intelligence (AI) will increasingly ensure the optimized use of resources and a reduction in physical workloads. Overall, I would like to see 2022 under the motto "Courage to be more relaxed".

The mechanical and plant engineering sector is increasingly feeling the effects of global material shortages. It is currently difficult to predict the extent to which this will affect economic development in the coming year. Nevertheless, I am confident that the supply situation will ease again in the first six months of the year and that the economy will pick up speed as expected.
