IGZ: Global spare parts supply ensured
In future, the machine tool manufacturer and laser specialist Trumpf will ensure the worldwide supply of spare parts from its new central warehouse at its headquarters in Ditzingen. The logistics project, for which IGZ is responsible, comprises a variety of manual and automated small parts and pallet storage areas, which are managed and controlled using the latest SAP EWM/MFS warehouse system. With the solution concept proposed by the SAP logistics specialists at IGZ, Trumpf benefits from higher performance reserves and lower space requirements compared to the warehouse technology originally put out to tender. More than 30,000 items are stored and picked in an area of around 13,000 square meters and an average of 1,200 shipments are dispatched daily to the global customers of the provider of manufacturing solutions for flexible sheet metal production and in the field of industrial laser technology.
