Corridor-free technology enables greater efficiency

In many applications of automated storage systems, floor-bound and floor-free storage and retrieval machines can complement each other perfectly. This makes it possible to design systems that are demonstrably more economical when used on a daily basis.

Westfalia, one of the world's leading manufacturers of automated storage systems, will be exhibiting on this topic. Nowadays, in addition to the familiar floor-bound storage and retrieval machines, floor-free technologies are increasingly being used. According to the company, the Aviator from Westfalia offers particularly advantageous combinations and synergy effects. There are therefore no limits to the logistics-oriented design of storage systems and picking zones. In order to optimize picking routes and times, the Aviator is "the key technology that allows the necessary crossing of the aisle in the first place."
