The aim: the best possible use of space and safety when exchanging pallets. In order to further improve production chains, SMB has developed a new re-palletizing system for incoming goods. The design makes it easy to operate and reduces costs. At the same time, individual customer requirements can be catered for.

The turn-tilt pallet changer that has now been put into operation in the Cologne area was designed by SMB at the Quickborn site and then integrated into the warehouse logistics on site with the help of experts.

Damage-free swiveling
During repalletizing, the incoming goods pallet is swivelled into a prism after it has been moved hydraulically to the pallet on both sides. After repalletizing, there is always a pallet clearance to the outer pallet contour. The transport pallets are gently exchanged using a simple, fully automatic rotating and tilting movement: the tilting device neither presses nor pushes the load so that damage can be prevented. All standard pallet formats can be moved and repalletized via the system. The system has a modular mechanical design and can be easily expanded in terms of size and function. The same applies to the system software, which was developed individually and precisely for these specific applications.
