Bito founds subsidiary in Canada

In October 2022, BITO-Lagertechnik Bittmann founded another overseas subsidiary, BITO Storage Solutions Canada, Inc. based in Toronto. This makes BITO Canada the storage technology specialist's 16th subsidiary worldwide.

The development of automation systems has taken on incredible dimensions over the past thirty years. Automation projects with heights of up to 30 m and high volumes are no longer a rarity and are also in high demand on the Canadian market. As an internationally active full-service provider of specialized intralogistics solutions, BITO-Lagertechnik sees great potential here, not only for its current but also for future large-scale projects, and would like to be ideally positioned for the implementation of such large-scale orders and for all the associated challenges by establishing its own Canadian subsidiary. © BITO storage technology

The company has been handling projects in Canada for several years, which were previously managed by the North American subsidiary BITO Storage Solutions US, Inc. In Canada, BITO mainly realizes large-scale projects with system integrators and is particularly well represented in the field of automated systems. As the Canadian market is growing very strongly and the scale of the projects has also increased significantly, the company has decided to establish a Canadian subsidiary.

Michael Fritz, who as CEO BITO Storage Solutions US, Inc. is Managing Director of the US subsidiary, is now also responsible as Managing Director of the Canadian subsidiary. He celebrates his 35th anniversary with the company in January 2023 and, prior to his appointment as Managing Director of the US subsidiary in 2020, was responsible for the development, expansion and support of the Automated Systems division at BITO-Lagertechnik for both the German and international markets for over three decades.

Michael Fritz: "In general, the development in the field of automation systems has taken on incredible dimensions over the past thirty years. This applies both to the height of the systems - 30 m high is no longer a rarity - and to the volume of automation projects. And this is precisely where our current and planned projects on the Canadian market lie. For us as an internationally active full-service provider of specialized intralogistics solutions, this is of course a great opportunity and we see great potential not only for current but also for future large-scale projects. With our own Canadian subsidiary, we want to be ideally positioned for the implementation of such major orders and for all the associated challenges. BITO guarantees its system partners and customers a high level of system functionality with shelving technology of the highest quality, high manufacturing and assembly precision and professional project management."

With his many years of experience as Commercial Director at the parent company, Robert Schillinger will support Michael Fritz as Vice-President and Secretary in this ambitious task. He has already been involved in the founding of many of BITO's subsidiaries and holds corresponding positions in various national companies.
