This new status is linked to trans-o-flex's voluntary commitment to provide the German government with transport capacity for medicines and medical goods for emergency care. Payment is regulated in accordance with the Federal Services Act. On the other hand, the status is associated with numerous special treatments that help trans-o-flex to provide its services safely and reliably even under the special conditions of crises or disasters.

In an emergency, trans-o-flex receives government support in the fulfillment of its tasks. This means, for example, that trans-o-flex vehicles are also allowed to enter zones that may be cordoned off or receive police escort. Furthermore, trans-o-flex is prioritized by government agencies in emergencies. And last but not least, trans-o-flex has received the so-called certificate for telecommunications security due to its new status. This certificate is only awarded to companies that are particularly relevant for supplying the population, that must be permanently available to the federal government and whose telecommunications must therefore function 100 percent even in crisis situations.

Before trans-o-flex received the new status, numerous discussions took place between government representatives and the company. "We were approached," emphasizes Wolfgang P. Albeck. "But of course we were delighted with the trust they placed in us and supported the talks at the highest level." The first contacts were made back in August. The certificate was issued in November. In the meantime, representatives of the authorities have convinced themselves that trans-o-flex is one of the companies in the transport and traffic sector that is able to ensure basic medical care for the population. For example, the company's own and third-party transport capacities as well as the proportion of regularly transported general cargo and parcel volumes were examined, particularly in the actively temperature-controlled areas of 2-8 degrees and 15-25 degrees Celsius.

The status achieved is not limited in time. The telecommunications security certificate is valid for ten years.
