At NUFAM 2019 in Karlsruhe, the Gersthofen-based specialist for trailers and vehicle bodies will be showcasing a wide range of its transport solutions at stand B211 in hall 2.

From September 26 to 29, 2019, interested visitors can experience the world of commercial vehicles at NUFAM in Karlsruhe. Humbaur, one of the largest manufacturers of trailers and vehicle bodies in Europe, will be taking the opportunity to showcase the diversity of its transport solutions on numerous exhibits.

New for city logistics

Among the vans and trucks with FlexBox box bodies, two vehicles stand out in particular at the stand: a FlexBox Cool refrigerated van based on a Fiat Ducato with natural gas drive and a FlexBox Freeze refrigerated van based on a MAN TGE.

The Fiat Ducato has a platform chassis for a low loading height to facilitate loading and unloading in city logistics. The FlexBox Cool fresh goods body is a lightweight GRP construction (PurLight) with 45 mm sandwich panels and has a payload-optimized insulated floor (LightGrip). The refrigerated box body has double-wing doors at the rear as standard and is also equipped with a row of slotted anchor rails on the right and left for securing the load. The interior of the box body measures 3500 x 2000 x 2300 mm and thus offers space for up to four Euro pallets or 189 E2 crates. The core of the fully electric refrigeration system is the Mitsubishi TE30 refrigeration unit. It includes both a 230 V stationary cooling system and buffer batteries for cooling operation without the engine running.

The MAN TGE exhibition vehicle has a deep-freeze body in lightweight GRP construction (PurLight), which is cooled by a Carrier Xarios 350 refrigeration unit. It includes both a 380 V stationary cooling system and a hot gas heating system. The box body measures 3320 x 1850 x 1770 mm inside and offers space for five Euro pallets or 192 E2 crates. A row of slotted anchor rails is installed on the left and right to secure the load. The vehicle can be loaded and unloaded quickly via the standard double-wing doors at the rear, while a 900 x 1700 mm side door on the right provides access to the cargo area with less loss of cold air. Two bumpers at the rear protect the exhibition vehicle when approaching loading ramps from the rear.

Optimized trailers for the construction industry

The revised three-way tippers from HUMBAUR will be represented at NUFAM 2019 by the HTK 14. The chassis of all three-way tippers in the HTK model series has been weight-optimized to enable more payload. At the same time, a lighter bridge was used as the basis, so that the loading bridge also contributes to weight savings. The HTK 14 also uses new axles. The front wall of the three-way tipper now has a through-loading function and the tailgate has an automatic locking mechanism so that the tailgate can be opened for swinging when tipping backwards. The trailer now has spring-loaded cylinders and an EBS brake system as standard.

The multifunctional HBT 10 high loader has also been fundamentally redesigned: The vehicle has been weight-optimized, and the chassis in particular has been reduced in weight. This results in a significantly higher payload with the same total weight. The loading height of the HBT 10 has been lowered by around 60 mm, while the fold-down access ramps have been extended by 200 mm. This results in a significantly lower drive-on angle, which makes loading and unloading easier. Another highlight of the new HBT 10 is its frame profile: this has a large number of lashing options. The geometry of the profile is designed so that lashing straps can be hooked into the frame profile even when the drop sides are closed. The corner stanchions at the front of the trailer have been optimized so that pallets can now be moved right up to the front wall when loading from the side.

CO2-free delivery traffic

The HUMBAUR FlexBike is the ideal and compact transport solution for delivery traffic on the first and last mile in city centers or on large factory premises or in parks and will attract the attention of NUFAM visitors. The HUMBAUR FlexBike is the result of a cooperation with BAYK AG, which specializes in bicycle-supported mobility solutions. The FlexBike is based on the BAYK BRING cargo bike, which is supplemented by a FlexBox Dry in lightweight GRP construction. It has space for 1.4 m3 of cargo and the base area is sufficient for a Euro pallet. A payload of 260 kg is possible.

Cyclists are supported by a TQ mid-motor with PinRim gearbox and a maximum torque of 120 Nm, and a starting aid up to 6 km/h is also integrated. A Husquarna differential gear on the rear wheel axle, a hydraulic disc brake from Brembo and an LED lighting system with brake light function ensure safety while riding.

The HUMBAUR FlexBike is approved as a pedelec25 (EPAC standard in the EU) and certified by DEKRA. The 48 V Li-Ion battery has a capacity of 2000 Wh (with integrated battery management system). The battery can be fully charged in four hours.
