Mosolf delivers 4PL concept for Asian car manufacturer
The Mosolf Group is expanding its range of services for using the rail link along the new Silk Road. In future, the automotive logistics company will transport finished vehicles from Chinese manufacturers to Europe on the "China-Europe Express Railway" and is now also offering Asian OEMs 4PL services in this context.
"With the help of our Europe-wide network of locations and modern IT systems, we want to offer automotive manufacturers from the Asian region comprehensive 4PL solutions in partnership to optimize their value chain," said Wolfgang Göbel, CSO of the Mosolf Group and President of the European Company for Vehicle Logistics (ECG), on the sidelines of the Chinese-German Logistics Forum on 15 November in Chengdu. "Our customers will benefit from increased efficiency, improved flexibility and greater transparency as well as higher quality standards," Göbel continued.
As part of the Belt and Road Initiative, the automotive logistics company reached agreements with the district government in Qingbaijiang in May to establish the existing "Chengdu-Europe Express Railway" for finished vehicles as well. The line has been running between Qingbaijiang railroad station in Chengdu and Lodz in Poland since 2013. It crosses the Chinese border at the Alataw Pass in Xinjiang province and then runs via Kazakhstan, Russia and the Republic of Belarus to Poland.
Mosolf laid the foundations for the new rail product in the middle of the year with the establishment of its own subsidiary, MOSOLF (Chengdu) International Logistics Co. Ltd. and the commissioning of corresponding operating areas with sidings at Chengdu Qingbaijiang and Lodz railroad stations. With the commissioning of the new railroad line between Europe and China, Mosolf says it is creating a reliable, cost-effective and fast logistics channel for the transportation of finished vehicles between Europe and China.
