MAN Truck & Bus applies for short-time working at its plants

Due to the developments in connection with the spread of the coronavirus and the measures and decisions taken in almost all countries, MAN Truck & Bus is forced to apply for short-time working at its German plants. The regulation is to apply to the majority of employees at the production sites from March 23. Talks on the agreements between the employer, employee representatives and authorities are ongoing, the company reports.

Due to the unclear overall situation and the almost hourly changing events, MAN expects further and increasing bottlenecks in the coming days, both in the supply of production and in the delivery of vehicles and parts. This and MAN's concern for the well-being of its employees is forcing the company to apply for short-time working at its German production sites. Employees from the administrative areas who are not affected by short-time working are to take advantage of existing flexible working time arrangements and work from home where possible.

Production is also being scaled back at non-German plants. MAN is doing everything in its power to keep its sales and service locations around the world fully operational for as long as the overall situation allows in order to safeguard supply chains. MAN has also taken all necessary measures at all sites to ensure that the health of its employees is not jeopardized even in this extreme situation.
