MAN presented a fully electric van for city logistics in Hanover. The eTGE 4.140 has a range of 160 to kilometers and was designed to meet the requirements of e-mobility applications.

The first four MAN eTGEs are being used in Berlin - by Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG). "BVG and electromobility - they simply belong together. As with the subway, streetcars and e-buses, so too with our internal vehicle fleet. We have already converted our car fleet of more than 100 vehicles to e-drive. Now we are looking forward to starting the conversion of our vans. This will make BVG even more environmentally friendly and Berlin even more liveable," explained Dr. Sigrid Nikutta, Chairwoman of the Board of Management and Chief Operating Officer of BVG.

As a panel van with a high roof, the transporter has almost eleven cubic meters of cargo space and a payload of one tonne as a 3.5-tonner. The all-electric drive has various advantages. Among other things, the eTGE is not subject to any entry restrictions due to diesel driving bans and enables early, late and night-time deliveries in conurbations, as it rolls very quietly without engine noise. Martin Pludra, Head of Van Sales, MAN Truck & Bus Germany: "We are delighted that such a renowned transport company as BVG has opted for our brand new MAN eTGE. The all-electric van will play a particularly important role when it comes to emission-free transport, especially in metropolitan areas like Berlin."
