KRONE Commercial Vehicle Group

The family-owned company Krone is one of the market leaders in commercial vehicles and agricultural technology. The product portfolio in the Commercial Vehicles division for the Russian market includes flatbed and box semi-trailers, container chassis, swap systems, trailers and truck bodies as well as CEP vehicles for parcel services. In five decades, the Krone Group's annual turnover has risen from around 8.5 million euros to almost 1.8 billion euros today. The main sales driver of the Krone Group is commercial vehicles (Fahrzeugwerk Krone and subsidiaries) with a turnover of around 1.2 billion euros. Krone manufactured around 48,000 vehicle units (around 37,000 semi-trailers plus almost 11,000 swap systems) in the past financial year; Germany remained the strongest sales market with 30 percent, followed by Western Europe (41%) and Eastern Europe (27%). The Krone Group employs around 4,300 people worldwide. The reason for the strong increase in the number of employees is the expansion of the Krone Commercial Vehicle Group; currently around 2,500 employees work in the production of commercial vehicles at the sites in Werlte, Herzlake (both in Emsland/Lower Saxony), Dinklage (near Osnabrück), Lübtheen (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania) and Tire (Turkey). red
