According to the company, the 40-ton truck can cover 130 to 150 kilometers without recharging. The vehicle is intended for use in plant logistics. "Our trucks are mainly used in just-in-time transport between companies and in the municipal sector. The fully electric drivetrain ensures emission-free and low-noise driving. This is why there are no driving or environmental zone bans for Framo vehicles. Traffic in cities is therefore possible at any time without any problems," say Managing Directors Andy Illgen and André Beuchold, pointing out the key advantages of their vehicles over conventional combustion engines. For example, diesel-powered commercial vehicles can quickly reach consumption levels of around 70 to 100 liters per 100 kilometers in urban start-stop mode.

More range thanks to new battery
So far, the system integrator for electromobility has put almost 30 vehicles on the road. Orders have been received for a further 45, mainly heavy tractor units. The team, which has grown to almost 50 employees, is currently working on the market launch of battery generation 3.0. "Compared to generation 2.0, we have significantly increased the energy density. This means more range with the same installation space and therefore a lower weight. The system has a modular design and can be scaled as required," explain the managing directors. The vehicles, which have a range of up to 250 kilometers, currently offer DC charging up to 150 kW. From spring 2020, outputs of up to 300 kW should be possible.

Focus on plant logistics and municipal services
Framo currently manufactures primarily for the factory logistics and municipal sectors. The company also offers sustainable mobility for city logistics, the construction industry and other sectors. In addition to the vehicles, the all-round service package includes charging stations, battery, service and financing solutions.
