Experience logistics live at the Logistics Day
Contrary to popular belief, transportation, handling and storage are not the same as logistics. But what is logistics and where can you find it? With a turnover of 240 billion euros and around 3 million employees in 2015, logistics is the third largest economic sector in Germany and an important part of the labor market. It secures supply and disposal and can increase the competitiveness of companies. To make the general public aware of this, companies, organizations and institutions from industry, trade and logistics services will provide an insight into the diversity of logistics tasks on 21 April 2016. Companies will showcase their logistics and educational institutions will present their offerings on the topic. The day offers information, innovations and the chance to get to know people from the logistics sector.
As a professional field, this economic sector offers numerous exciting and challenging opportunities. Logistics Day has proven to be an excellent tool for job hunting and recruitment. Companies that present themselves on this day of action can attract both young talent and skilled workers. Pupils, students or newcomers and career changers from other economic sectors can easily make contact with interesting companies - or find out about degree courses with a focus on logistics.
Among the companies offering events are well-known brands such as Audi, Dachser, DHL, Hermes, Hapag Lloyd, Hornbach, IKEA or DB Schenker, but also so-called "hidden champions" such as Beumer, Brenntag, Fiege, Lindig Fördertechnik or Lutra show the public their logistics processes.
