Logistics center on 13,500 square meters
More efficient handling of spare parts
CBM, the world market leader in bus and streetcar spare parts, is building a new 13,500 square meter logistics center in Rouillon, France. AR Racking has implemented a mix of different storage systems for a total of 85,000 products for CBM.
A new logistics center has been built on a total of 13,500 square meters, including 12,000 square meters of warehouse space and 1,500 square meters of offices. This combines the capacities of five external warehouses of the French spare parts supplier and makes logistics processes more efficient. Samuel Turboust, CEO at CBM, emphasizes: "With the new center and the warehouse systems installed in it, we are significantly improving our processes in terms of speed and user-friendliness". The intralogistics were supplied by AR Racking from Zamudio.
AR Racking has implemented a mix of different storage systems for CBM: "AR PAL", a conventional pallet warehouse for manual operation, offers storage spaces for a total of 11,823 pallets. Cantilever racking was installed to accommodate up to 1,344 long goods. Cartons and light goods are handled in 270-metre-long flow racks for unit loads, among other things. Further storage and picking systems have been installed over a distance of 3,900 meters. And to further increase the usable area of the new logistics center, the logistics specialist has installed an additional 1,000 square metre racking platform. Individually designed and easy to assemble, this platform can be easily adapted to any space. "Due to the enormous variety of spare parts to be stored, it was a major challenge to find the right concept for CBM," describes Christophe Braquehais, responsible for large orders at AR Racking France, adding: "We are proud to have mastered this challenge."
