Stow Germany
"We are slightly optimistic for 2022"
"As one of the market leaders in our industry, we achieved an extremely good result last year, both in Germany and in the Stow Group as a whole, despite the pandemic. This was due to two key factors: firstly, purchasing and consumer behavior in our society has changed significantly - the coronavirus crisis has brought the digital shopping experience even more to the fore. As a result, e-commerce players had to increase their resources enormously, including in terms of warehouse logistics. On the other hand, the crisis had a negative impact on globalized procurement and methods such as JIT - a true supply chain crisis was triggered. The result: more local sourcing and restocking were back in vogue.
For 2022, we are slightly optimistic that the factors described above will continue to make for interesting projects on the German market and that Stow will once again be one of the favored solution providers. In addition, our new product and solution landscape gives us confidence that we will be successful again in 2022. In addition to our wide range of conventional racking and storage technology for pallets and small parts, we are also well equipped for the future with our automated solutions. These include both the mobile racking system, which has been tried and tested for years, and the Atlas channel shuttle. Added to this is our 2D shuttle, which has been established on the market for two years and can move both in the storage channels and in the main aisle. This makes it possible to move from one storage channel to another without the shuttle having to be moved there by a forklift truck. This highly efficient storage system can therefore be used in both semi-automatic and fully automatic warehouses.
As soon as the raw material and component bottlenecks are resolved, high demand from the automotive and industrial goods sectors, for example, can be expected in 2022. It is also hoped that investment gaps caused by the crisis will be closed in 2022 and that basic consumption will increase significantly once the coronavirus crisis has been overcome as best as possible. Overall, low growth is forecast for the macroeconomic situation - naturally still dependent on the pandemic.
