Platform supplemented by storage and retrieval unit and transfer car
Interroll is expanding its Modular Pallet Conveyor Platform MPP, the flexible modular system for powered pallet conveying, with a new flow storage and retrieval machine and a transfer car that enable the storage and retrieval of up to 100 pallets per hour.
With the market launch of the new storage and retrieval machine (SRM) and the transfer car, companies now have the opportunity to realize the material flow with pallets end-to-end - for example between incoming and outgoing goods or between warehouse, production and picking - on the basis of a technology offering from a single source.
System integrators and plant manufacturers can thus expand their business with plug-and-play pallet conveyor solutions, which can also be planned using Interroll's Layouter tool. "With our compact automation platform, users can not only replace costly and accident-prone forklift traffic, but also use new pallet applications with high throughput thanks to the flexible combination of our modular conveyor and flow storage systems. For example, flow storage systems can now be designed as highly dynamic dispatch warehouses or the space required for automated route provisioning can be significantly reduced," explains Michael Kuhn, Managing Director of Interroll Kronau GmbH.
High pallet throughput
At the heart of pallet handling is the SRM, which has been designed for connection to the Pallet Flow flow storage system. Thanks to its lightweight design and integrated energy recovery, the system is energy-efficient. The overall height is twelve meters, the horizontal travel speed is three meters per second and the lifting speed is 0.8 meters per second. At market launch, the system is initially designed to transport Euro pallets with a maximum weight of 800 kilograms. Other pallet formats will be added gradually. The system is equipped with integrated lifting speed control and powerful braking systems. Thanks to the modular and pre-assembled design of the steel construction, the device is also easy to deliver and assemble.
Transfer car for fast and smooth transfer
At the same time as the storage and retrieval machine, the Modular Pallet Conveyor Platform MPP is being supplemented with a new transfer carriage for pallet conveying. It can reach speeds of up to five meters per second, which means that even larger distances - for example in the area of route provision or the connection between warehouse and production - can be bridged quickly. The transfer carriage weighs 275 kilograms and, thanks to the drive concept, does not require a control cabinet for the electrical connection. The pallet conveyor modules are now controlled by the Pallet Control PC 6000, which can be attached to the side profile and put into operation. In combination with the MultiControl, the Pallet Control PC 6000 enables the control of 400 V and 24/48 V drives and thus offers a consistent control concept for the entire pallet conveyor system.
