Timocom presents shipment tracking for carriers

The IT company will be presenting several innovations at the IAA Transportation from September 20 to 25. They are explicitly aimed at carriers and address the special needs of small companies and users of mobile devices.

"We are expanding our marketplace for European road freight transport with new products and functions - two will be available at the IAA and we are bringing the third to the trade fair as a prototype," says Gunnar Gburek, Head of Business Affairs at Timocom. Visitors to the Timocom stand in Hall 13, Stand C40 can look forward to the following innovations:

The modernization of the freight exchange: Timocom users can now perform any number of searches simultaneously, be notified of new offers and explicitly exclude certain offers from the results list. The new freight exchange is also much clearer and easier to use on mobile devices.

Live shipment tracking: With shipment status, exchange of transport information and an ETA optimized for trucks, this new development is geared towards the wishes of carriers. "It was important to us to provide contractors with a tool that allows them to retain full control over the release of their data and at the same time meet the demands of clients for more transparency in the transport process," says Steven van Cauteren, Director of Key Account & Partner Management at Timocom. Using a digital image of the shipment, carriers can share information with their business partners in real time so that everyone involved in the transport can react quickly to deviations. The product is currently being launched in German-speaking countries.

Route planning: This prototype is an addition to live shipment tracking. It allows carriers to plan shipments and drivers based on routes, saving them manual work in Excel and Word. Drivers can view the route plans directly on their mobile device. "Route planning is a prototype that is designed to reduce the workload for contractors. We are currently looking for test customers so that we can develop it further according to their needs," says Steven van Cauteren. The function is primarily aimed at small companies and freight carriers.

Clients in logistics are increasingly demanding digital processes and more transparency from their service providers. With its latest innovations, Timocom supports carriers in meeting the increasing requirements while keeping control of their own data. This allows companies to concentrate on their core business and benefit from the digitalization of their processes.

The IAA Transportation will take place in Hanover from September 20-25, 2022.
