TECE with ProStore and AutoStore in live operation

To optimize internal logistics at its headquarters, TECE opted for a fully automated AutoStore warehouse with 30,000 containers and 8 AutoStore robots.

As a medium-sized company, TECE GmbH in Emsdetten is one of the leading providers of intelligent building technology in Germany and operates globally. At TECE, filling and removal via Auto-Store now takes place via four carousel ports. A conveyor belt leads from the ports to the packing table with integrated scales for shipping boxes. The driverless transport system for the material flow from incoming goods to the AutoStore and from the AutoStore to the dispatch area completes the solution. The new AutoStore system has been fully integrated into the ProStore warehouse management system environment, which TECE has been using for many years. The uniform interface and the look and feel therefore meant that there was no break in the operation of the application and an advantage when introducing the system.

Order management continues to take place exclusively in ProStore. The strategies and rules already used at TECE for creating picking orders could therefore also be applied directly to AutoStore, which was a further advantage. At the AutoStore Port, storage and picking as well as inventory and service work are processed with a standardized user interface. Bookings are made directly in ProStore without additional interfaces. This means that order status and stock levels are always up to date. The AutoStore system was supplied by the integrator Element Logic Germany from Bad Friedrichshall. The WMS ProStore comes from the Paderborn IT company TEAM GmbH. The implementation took place on schedule in fall 2021. The stock was successively stored in AutoStore. As soon as a sufficient quantity of items was available in AutoStore, the picking process was switched over. The successful transition took place step by step.
