JLT Mobile Computers founds software subsidiary
JLT Mobile Computers announces the establishment of a software development subsidiary and the appointment of Andreas Nivard (pictured) as Managing Director of the new company, which will operate under the name JLT Software Solutions.
Over the next few years, JLT plans to further expand its software subsidiary by hiring a strong development team with solid software expertise. The aim of the investment is to create customer value and competitive advantages with new software solutions and a scalable range of services for JLT's robust computers. For example, JLT plans to leverage the existing sensor technology and feature set of the latest generation of JLT vehicle terminals, consisting of the Windows-based JLT6012 and the upcoming Android 10-based JLT6012A computer, to offer new mobile device management and IoT (Internet of Things) solutions.
"JLT's goal is to grow profitably and faster than the rest of the market. To achieve this, one of the three pillars of our growth strategy is the development of holistic solutions with increased service content," explains Per Holmberg, CEO of JLT Mobile Computers. "A key to creating a scalable service offering is the development of flexible software solutions. As JLT's current expertise is mainly in hardware development, I am proud and happy to welcome Andreas Nivard to the JLT team, who will lead our new company with his solid software industry experience."
Andreas Nivard, who will take up his position on March 1, brings with him almost 25 years of experience in various positions in the software industry, where he was mainly responsible for business and all aspects of product development. Most recently, Andreas Nivard worked for the IT software and services company TietoEVRY, where he was responsible for operational results in the Småland region of Sweden for three years. Prior to TietoEVRY, he worked for many years at Visma, Sweden's largest provider of administration software, during which time he led a number of development teams.
