ifm takes over CMS Automatisierungstechnik, Linz

Ifm has acquired CMS Automatisierungstechnik in Linz, Austria, as of February 28, 2023. The company is thus strengthening its activities in the field of cloud-based machine diagnostics. With a total of 9 employees, CMS offers automated data analyses for early damage detection and predictive maintenance. The data is used to derive diagnoses and forecasts so that targeted maintenance and servicing measures can be carried out depending on the condition. From the sensor to the cloud, this creates a high-performance offering for customers from a wide range of industries. This includes automated vibration analyses and diagnostics as well as complete process evaluations. The two companies, ifm diagnostic and CMS, already have many years of experience working together. The first pilot projects for cloud-based machine diagnostics are already underway. With the integration of CMS, ifm is taking a further, strategically important step into the future and thus achieving new business areas and more stable competitiveness.

The new company, which will operate under the name ifm diagnostic services gmbh in future, will strengthen the "process" division at ifm. Andreas Hornstein and Michael Danitschek will be operationally responsible for the division together with the current shareholder Christoph Müllner. The central managing directors Lothar Zimmer and Hans Peter Müller will be responsible for the new subsidiary in the "process" division.
