Ramps closed
The Gross-Gerau/Rhine-Main logistics park has been completed. The supplier for ramp weather protection was Koch-Lagertechnik, a specialist in dock shelters.
Dreieich-based project developer Four Parx has completed one of the largest conversion projects in the Rhine-Main region. On the former Südzucker production site in Groß-Gerau, which has a total area of 243,000 square meters, the company has built around 106,000 square meters of total hall space in four construction phases since summer 2017 and invested in sustainable building standards. All four construction phases were certified in accordance with the requirements of the DGNB Gold Standard (German Sustainable Building Council). The focus is on ecological, economic and ergonomic aspects as well as health, comfort, user satisfaction and sustainability.
Insulation achieves savings target
Door seals from Koch-Lagertechnik from Lage/Lippe ensure the best possible insulation at the interface between the hall and the truck with a total of 150 doors. The project developer Four Parx and the predecessor company Nextparx have preferred these seals since the 1990s. This is because the door seals with side panels made of a special foam core and the lifting roof, which is independent of them, protect against heat, cold and draughts and help to achieve the desired environmental and savings targets. The vertical skirts press firmly against the outside of the vehicles and swap bodies thanks to special pressure slats. When using optional corner sealing cushions, draughts from below can also be prevented.
Side sections free of metal rods
The flexible door seals also impress with their durability. Experience from other Four Parx projects confirms this: "We still swear by the weather protection from Koch-Lagertechnik," says Four Parx Managing Director Francisco-Javier Bähr with satisfaction. He is surprised that types with rods are still being installed at all. In the side parts of the Koch TAS-SK door seal, the usual metal parts have been replaced by the foam core, meaning that vehicles approaching incorrectly cannot bend or break anything.
The lifting roof, which is independent of the side sections, automatically deflects both upwards and to the rear if a swap body is positioned too high. Damage to the roof is virtually impossible thanks to this mechanism, which was patented back in the 1990s.
