New variable control for step ramps
Even if the topic of efficiency in the loading process has almost been exhausted, there are still further optimization possibilities that arise due to different loading situations and truck types at the ramp-truck interface.

In cooperation with an international freight forwarder, PROMStahl has therefore developed a control variant especially for the loadhouses installed in the new logistics center in Hanover, which on the one hand enables the loading and unloading of trucks with closed doors thanks to the technology of the step ramps and the dock levellers positioned at an angle below ramp level, but on the other hand also allows the loading and unloading of trucks with roller shutters in a supported horizontal position. Of the total of 109 loading points, 26 have been equipped with this new variable control system. It is the first system to combine two different loading systems at just one loading point.
The technology is controlled with an additional autoreturn button. Example: After a truck with rear doors has been unloaded and a truck with roller shutter doors has docked, the autoreturn button raises the bridge plateau from the lower inclined position, caused by the truck doors being closed in front of the loading point, to the secured horizontal position, with automatically folding support legs under the bridge plateau securing the dock leveller. The truck docks, the roller shutter on the truck is opened and the forklift truck, still standing on the bridge, removes the last row of pallets placed directly behind the roller shutter. The bridge platform is then lifted from the horizontal position to the height of the truck loading area, placed on top and the remaining pallets are unloaded in the usual way. The loading process works according to the same principle, only in reverse order.
