In addition to the assets, Interroll is acquiring a team of engineers and experts with a strong track record in software development, electronics, mechatronics and engineering with a focus on material flow and the Industrial Internet of Things (IoT), according to Interroll. Interroll invested a six-figure euro amount for the purchase of MITmacher GmbH.

The new CoE will assume global and cross-product responsibility for control systems, software and electronics solutions. As part of the new organization, the company will continue to support a number of existing projects with its consulting expertise.

Andreas Eglseer, the founder of MITmacher GmbH, has been appointed Managing Director of the new global competence center. The 42-year-old graduate engineer in mechatronics/economics, who founded the company at the beginning of 2015, will report to Jens Strüwing, Executive Vice President Products & Technology of the Interroll Group, in this role. The company will be renamed Interroll Software & Electronics GmbH and move to new premises in Linz, Austria.

"With a stronger focus on software and electronics, Interroll is taking on greater responsibility in supporting system integrators. To this end, we will offer an even more sophisticated technology platform in the future. Market demand shows that control and software solutions are playing an increasingly important role in creating value for our customers and end users," says Jens Strüwing. "We will therefore intensify our activities in this direction and further expand our expertise in this area with our new Global Center of Excellence Software & Electronics in Linz."
