Teradyne appoints Kim Povlsen as the new President of Universal Robots (UR). Povlsen assumes his new role as President of Universal Robots on March 1.

"Povlsen combines a fantastic track record as a dynamic leader with relevant experience and a tremendous passion for robotics. With him on board, Universal Robots is poised to strengthen its leadership position in the global collaborative robotics market.

Under his leadership, we can accelerate growth in new applications and the market volume for cobots. Universal Robots was one of the first companies to form the core of the Robotics Innovation Center in Odense. Our international customers recognize the innovation and quality of this Danish heritage. I think it's great to have a Danish CEO who can build on our achievements and further develop our robotics hub and headquarters in Odense."

Kim Povlsen has held various senior business and technology leadership positions at Schneider Electric, a global energy management and automation company. Most recently, as Vice President Strategy & Technology, he was responsible for technology strategy and execution within this multi-billion dollar global organization. Povlsen lives in Aarhus, Denmark, and holds a Master's degree in Computer Science & Embedded Engineering from the University of Southern Denmark.
