Antonio Trioschi takes over
Swisslog presents successor to CEO Christian Baur
The intralogistics company Swisslog is filling three senior management positions and emphasizes in the press release: "All of the job holders are committed to both the stability and growth of the company."
In concrete terms, this means Antonio Trioschi has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and succeeds Dr. Christian Baur, who has been CEO for the past six years and "not only represented Swisslog Logistics Automation, but was also instrumental in putting it on a growth trajectory", according to the press release. Trioschi has been with Swisslog for nine years and has held various management positions during this time. Most recently, he was responsible for merging the two Swisslog business units Central and Greater Europe into one strong EMEA region.
Antonio Trioschi's successor as the new Head of EMEA is Jens Schmale. The manager joined the Swiss logistics company in 2020 (previously at Pelzer Fördertechnik and AM-Automotion) and initially took over the management of the AutoStore business unit, in whose success he played a key role last year. Schmale has many years of professional experience in the logistics industry from several sales and management positions. Before joining Swisslog, Schmale was Managing Director of a German AutoStore distributor.
Given the importance of the EMEA region as a key market for Swisslog, Jens Schmale, who works from Swisslog's location in Dortmund, Germany, is stepping up to further strengthen the company's success in this region. "I am delighted to take on the role of Head of EMEA and to further expand our position as a leading provider in this highly dynamic market. The focus will be on data and robot-driven automated solutions."
CEO Antonio Trioschi says: "We are delighted to have Jens Schmale on board as the new head of the EMEA region. I am sure that with his extensive experience in leadership and customer engagement, he will play a formative role in supporting Swisslog's future growth."
Jens Schmale's successor as the new Head of Business Unit AutoStore Europe is Markus Kirchhoff. Kirchhoff also has many years of management experience in the logistics industry, which Antonio Trioschi confirms: "Markus Kirchhoff has the best qualifications to further develop our European business with the AutoStore goods-to-person solution, which is very popular in intralogistics."
