Changing of the guard in Hamburg
Lars Brzoska takes over management of Jungheinrich
As announced, Dr. Lars Brzoska has taken over as Chairman of the Board of Management of Jungheinrich AG. The 46-year-old business economist has been a member of the Board of Management of the Hamburg-based intralogistics solutions provider since 2014. He headed the Sales division until summer 2018, after which he took over responsibility for the Technology division. He will continue in this role until Sabine Neuß takes over as the new Chief Technology Officer on January 1, 2020.
Hans-Georg Frey, former Chairman of the Board of Management, has been elected Chairman of the Board of Management by the Supervisory Board. Frey was Chairman of the Board of Management of Jungheinrich AG from 2007 until the end of August this year. At the Annual General Meeting in spring, the shareholders elected him to the Supervisory Board with effect from September 1, 2019.
As announced last year, the previous Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Jürgen Peddinghaus, has resigned from his position. Peddinghaus had been a member of the Jungheinrich Supervisory Board since 2001 and its Chairman since 2006.
Jungheinrich AG had already announced its plans for the planned generational change in the company's management more than a year ago, thus setting the course for an orderly handover of the top positions on the Board of Management and Supervisory Board at an early stage
Dr. Lars Brzoska:
"Continuity and stability are important for a successful company. This is why Jungheinrich decided early on to plan and communicate the change in the Board of Management and Supervisory Board. Jungheinrich creates sustainable value for customers, business partners, employees and shareholders. As a Hamburg-based family-owned company, we stand for long-term and profitable growth. The orderly change at the top of the company is proof of this.
My special thanks go to Hans-Georg Frey, who has written a very successful chapter at Jungheinrich with the entire team over the past 12 years. With him, sales have doubled since 2010 and over 8,000 jobs have been created worldwide. I am delighted that we will now be continuing our five-year collaboration in a new constellation. I would also like to thank Jürgen Peddinghaus for his commitment and ongoing support. He was a reliable anchor and his advice was always an asset. On behalf of the Management Board and all employees, I wish him all the best for the rest of his life!
I am very much looking forward to the responsible task - together with my colleagues on the Board of Management and all employees worldwide - of continuing Jungheinrich's success story. Electromobility, digitalization and automation are the defining trends in intralogistics. With our entire team, we will expand our innovation leadership in these fields and better exploit previously untapped potential in the market. We want to continue to provide our customers with sustainable added value for the challenges of increasing e-commerce with industry-leading products and solutions. A major focus will therefore be on future technologies such as lithium-ion batteries and digital solutions."
