Thomas Eckelmann, Chairman of the Group Management Board of Eurogate, said on the occasion of Schütt's appointment: "The Eurogate Group in Germany has a complex and intensive change process ahead of it. In order to be able to continue to play a significant role in the terminal competition in the North Range, we must improve and reposition ourselves in many parts of our group of companies. Following a detailed analysis, we have therefore launched a comprehensive restructuring process that will bring us back into line with the leading European container handling centers. However, we can only implement such a change with the support of a specialist. We are therefore delighted to be able to entrust Thorsten Schütt, an experienced expert in change processes and an expert in the maritime industry, with the management and control of the Eurogate transformation process. We wish Mr. Schütt success and the necessary amount of assertiveness for this challenging task."

Thorsten Schütt holds a degree in business administration. After studying business administration in Germany and the USA, he began his professional career in 1990 at the Boston Consulting Group in the banking and shipping sector. In 2009, he joined a medium-sized shipping company holding company in Hamburg as Managing Director, which included the two tugboat shipping companies URAG and L&R. Since 2017, he has been the managing partner of a Norwegian-German logistics company that provides services in the offshore wind sector. Schütt has also advised a number of companies on their change processes.
