Bernd Dörre appointed Managing Director of EPAL
The Board of the European Pallet Association (EPAL) has appointed Bernd Dörre as Managing Director of EPAL. He succeeds Christian Kühnhold, who led EPAL until March 31, 2021(read more).
Bernd Dörre has been involved in the development of EPAL for more than 20 years. During this time, the EPAL Euro Pallet Pool has become the largest open pallet exchange pool in the world. He initially worked as a lawyer for EPAL from 1997, before supporting EPAL's Board of Directors and management as a consultant since 2009.
"Bernd Dörre is extremely familiar with the pallet market and all the requirements of the EPAL Euro pallet pool. In recent years, he has provided expert advice to the EPAL Board and managed important EPAL projects," explains Robert Holliger, President of EPAL.
Bernd Dörre's activities will focus on the further expansion of the EPAL Euro pallet pool as a component of sustainable warehouse and transport logistics, as well as the next step towards the digitalization of the EPAL Euro pallet pool.
"EPAL is 30 years old this year. For just as long, EPAL and the national EPAL associations have stood for the environmentally and climate-friendly use of high-quality and exchangeable EPAL pallets. In the coming years, we want to further expand the importance of the EPAL Euro pallet pool for achieving the sustainability goals of users and make the EPAL Euro pallet pool even simpler, more effective and better for trade, industry and logistics," explains Bernd Dörre.
Bernd Dörre is 54 years old, married and the father of 2 children. He is interested in art and enjoys visiting galleries, museums and exhibitions.
