The CarouselPort 4.0 was developed to increase the productivity of workstations. The workstation works in perfect harmony with the AutoStore robots to ensure efficiency between robots and personnel. The new CarouselPort 4.0 therefore enables "lower operating costs through reduced maintenance and service requirements" and improved user-friendliness.

One of the main elements of the redesign was to create an improved user experience for employees - from a better visual representation of the process steps to the port controller, which is attached to the back of the front cover and enables more intuitive operation. Carlos Fernandez, Chief Product Officer at AutoStore: "We are delighted to announce the fourth generation of our most popular and widely used workstation technology. Listening to our customers drives everything we do and recent analysis of work behavior has led to an evolution of the CarouselPort to make this interface even more user-centric."

AutoStore recognized the need to evolve the CarouselPort to increase flexibility in the warehouse, with the option to position both the port controller and emergency stop manager on the right-hand side or convert it to the left-hand side.

The new CarouselPort works with three rotating arms, each holding a bin. Typically, two of the arms are located at the rear of the port, where the robots can load or unload two bins at the same time. The third arm is located in the front position, where the operator can access the goods in the bin.
