Intra Logistik: Not everyone has the size
It's usually the small ones who say: "It's not the size that counts - it's the technology." This is how you could sum up this year's materialfluss ranking of the "Top 20 system integrators with the highest turnover and relevance for the German market". "Not quite true," the big players will claim, "we can also do technology." Maybe so, but then please show it: the fact is that the figures are not 100 percent comparable this year either. Jungheinrich, once again the leader in the table, is certainly including one or two trucks sold solo in its sales figures. SSI Schaefer did not even bother to sort waste garbage cans from system installations this year and did not report any figures at all.
No proof of the leading position
Körber, which claims to be "at the forefront of the logistics sector", did something similar: in order to avoid having to report its supply chain division separately from the cigarette machines, it preferred to keep quiet for a while instead of providing proof of its leading position. Knapp has actually reached the top: for the first time, the global group has reported sales in excess of one billion - chapeau! Beumer is also knocking loudly on this door, the Beckum-based global group is only just below it with a turnover of 950 million euros.
Just put your cards on the table!
Even among the small companies there are some who like their technology so much that they don't report any figures for fear that someone might even read them. Klinkhammer is one such case, as are Stopa, PSB Intralogistics and BSS Bohnenberg. One would be inclined to say: great technology - from what one hears - but lacking the stature to put their cards on the table, which, by the way, can easily be looked up in the Federal Gazette. Too bad. Instead, Kasto, Remmert and Element Logic are at the start for the first time this year. Welcome to the club!
