Dear reader,

Air freight is in turmoil. Freight rates are falling and the long overdue digitalization of the industry is coming up short in many areas. Alexis von Hoensbroech, Chief Sales Officer at Lufthansa Cargo ...

... was little affected by this during our trip to Africa - read in this issue why our cover hero is also seen as a beacon of hope in the industry outside the Kranich Group.

This report is one of the many stories and interviews in this issue that you won't read anywhere else, not even on the internet. Exclusive stories, plain language for managers in logistics and transportation as well as in companies with high logistics requirements - that has been our concept for 34 issues.

We will also be devoting further articles to intralogistics to get you in the mood for CeMAT, the intralogistics trade fair taking place at the end of May. I look forward to meeting you in Hanover, regardless of whether or not your company has been recognized as the best logistics brand. With more than 2.5 million people working in logistics, around 1,300 postcards and online votes submitted in a recent trade magazine's "Best Logistics Brand" poll is only a small database.

In addition, there was a lack of scientific backing and transparency in the nomination criteria, and it was not communicated which professional groups had voted. All of this allows conclusions to be drawn about the value of such an award and makes it counterproductive for the public image of logistics as a whole.
