Turnaround
Successful restructuring of trans-o-flex
The trans-o-flex logistics group made a profit in 2018 for the first time in ten years. The company's turnover rose to 468 million euros.
Successful turnaround
"After breaking even in 2017, the current result is definitive proof that we have succeeded in turning the company around," says CEO Wolfgang P. Albeck. For Albeck, the successful turnaround is clear proof that the company's strategy of focusing on 100% quality has paid off.
Investment volume of EUR 35 million
trans-o-flex intends to continue on its growth path in 2019. The budget provides for an investment volume of 35 million euros for the current year. "We will invest this money primarily in the purchase of new vehicles, IT and sorting technology. In addition, locations will be renovated and expanded," explains Albeck.
Site expansion planned
The increase in turnover is partly due to the company's further development into an express service. "The number of consignments that we deliver on a specific day or by a time selected by the customer has increased significantly both in relation to the total volume of all consignments and in absolute terms," says Albeck. The company is also planning to renew and expand its locations. After trans-o-flex employed 2,047 people in 2018, 0.6% fewer than in the previous year, the number is set to rise slightly again in 2019.
