Gebrüder Weiss continues to expand in Straubing

The transport and logistics company Gebrüder Weiss takes over the operations of Wolf Internationale Spedition GmbH and Air System Luftfracht Spedition GmbH in Straubing, Lower Bavaria.

The 20 new employees have expertise in international freight forwarding, both in land transportation and in air and sea freight. The basis for the new Gebrüder Weiss location is a recently acquired existing property on the Sachsenring with an area of 45,000 square meters(we reported).

"By moving to Gebrüder Weiss, we are offering our employees secure prospects for the future with new development opportunities. We can now offer our customers solutions from a single source with Gebrüder Weiss' international network and customer portal," says Katja Wolf, most recently managing owner of Wolf Internationale Spedition GmbH. In the medium term, 40 to 60 additional attractive jobs in all areas of freight forwarding are to be created at Gebrüder Weiss' newest location.

"Winning Katja Wolf and her two teams for us is a great starting point for the development at our new location. In line with our 'Best of Both Worlds' strategy - i.e. the combination of physical and digital expertise - we will continue to invest in people, our own logistics facilities and vehicles in combination with digital services in southern Germany," explains Werner Dettenthaler, Managing Director Land Transport Germany at Gebrüder Weiss.
