EU funding project to support carbon dioxide savings

Cologne, 15.08.2018 - The EU-funded NextTrust project aims to help reduce the burden on the environment through sustainable transportation methods - by means of cooperation networks between shippers, retailers and freight forwarders. There are currently around 40 pilot projects in four categories as part of the funding project. The aim is to create synergies through collaboration between the project partners along the entire supply chain.

Chep and Pooling Partners, together with the partners dm-drogerie markt, Edeka, Henkel, Mars and Rigterink, were acquired as new players in the cooperation network. Thanks to more efficient route planning, the "newcomers" were able to avoid empty runs when delivering and collecting empty pallets, thereby significantly reducing carbon dioxide emissions.

Special feature of the funding project: neutral trustees who create a legally compliant and antitrust-compliant framework for the project partners. Together with legal advisors, the trustees clarify which information is commercially sensitive and should not be exchanged between the partners, and which can be communicated. mm
