Board of Directors headed by three women
Christine Hein replaces Jens Bieniek as CFO at BLG Logistics
After Jens Bieniek did not extend his contract as CFO at BLG Logistics at the beginning of the year at his own request, the 56-year-old is handing over his position to Christine Hein.
She was officially appointed as an additional member of the Management Board on November 1. Jens Bieniek will leave the company after a transitional phase by the end of the year at the latest in order to pursue new challenges. Christine Hein will then assume full responsibility for the Finance division.
After Andrea Eck, who is responsible for BLG's Automotive Division, and Labor Director Ulrike Riedel, Christine Hein is the third woman on the six-member Board of Management. This puts BLG AG in the top group of listed companies in Germany in terms of the proportion of women in Board of Management and Supervisory Board positions.
As a senior executive at international corporations, Christine Hein (53) has in-depth knowledge and experience, particularly in the areas of finance/accounting, risk management and M&A. She is also familiar with various sectors such as the petroleum and chemical industries, mechanical and plant engineering and the food industry.
After working for the Oberhausen-based mechanical engineering company Babcock Borsig in the 1990s, Christine Hein has worked in various divisions and companies of the French oil company Total since 2003. Most recently, she was appointed Managing Director of Total Global Financial Services, the Group's internal Shared Service Center Accounting, which she had previously played a key role in establishing and developing as Program Manager. In 2015 and 2016, the business graduate was Vice President Corporate & Project Finance, Refining Chemicals/Marketing & Services at Total SE, where her responsibilities included the financial analysis and risk assessment of major investments. She has also worked in France, Germany and Singapore.
The Chairman of the Board of Management, Frank Dreeke, acknowledges the commitment of Jens Bieniek, who has been with BLG Logistics since 1999 and held a number of management positions before moving to the Board of Management in 2013: "In more than 20 years at BLG, Jens Bieniek has supported and driven forward many issues, including the transformation of BLG into an internationally operating seaport and logistics company. He has made a decisive contribution to important strategic projects over a long period of time. On behalf of the entire Board of Management, I would like to thank him for this and wish him all the best for his future career!"
Dr. Klaus Meier, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Bremer Lagerhaus-Gesellschaft -Aktiengesellschaft von 1877- adds: "Jens Bieniek has always worked impeccably and with great personal commitment to the interests of BLG over the entire time. The Supervisory Board would like to thank him for this."
