arvato doubles healthcare logistics space in Hamburg
arvato will more than double the logistics space at its healthcare site in Allermöhe by mid-2016. The expansion will include around 10,000 square meters of logistics space and up to 12,000 additional pallet spaces. The excavators for the new building will be rolling in from November. arvato has been operating a healthcare site in Hamburg since 2012,
The focus is on the medical technology sector. "The location is optimally connected, especially for globally active companies that want to transport their goods by sea freight and forward them by road or air freight with the shortest possible delivery times," says Christian Wolf, Vice President Healthcare at arvato. In the meantime, the 7,200 square meters of floor space previously used is no longer sufficient. Together with the company LogIQ as the client, the expansion is now taking place. The logistics real estate expert is investing around eleven million euros in the new building, for which arvato has signed a five-year lease. A new feature for the healthcare market is the controlled humidification of the hall, which automatically regulates the humidity in the warehouse.
