A new era of intelligent cleaning

The Nilfisk Liberty A50 autonomous scrubber-dryer, recently presented for the first time at a trade fair, combines cleaning expertise with technologies for machine vision and autonomous operation. According to Nilfisk, the aim is nothing less than to "completely rethink the world of cleaning and set milestones in floor cleaning".

The basis for this is the highly developed mapping technology of the machine design. This allows the user to create and adapt any cleaning pattern at the touch of a button. Secondly, the technology concept includes a so-called Vision Kit, which uses intelligent sensor technology to ensure targeted path and obstacle detection. In addition, there are market-leading Nilfisk processes for increasing work productivity while at the same time reducing overall operating costs. In addition to the consumption-optimizing EcoFlex and SmartFlow systems, the orbital technology "REV", the whisper mode SilentMode and the Fleet Management Track Clean are among the on-board features of the Nilfisk Liberty A50.

From machine operator to conductor

Imagine this: An employee is sitting at his desk, concentrating on a document. From time to time, he glances at his smartphone, which he uses to control five autonomously operating scrubber-driers on five different areas in five different buildings - like a conductor. The machines work smoothly and precisely, even in areas that are close to the edge, obstructed or narrow. They recognize objects, people and stairwells from afar and avoid the "obstacles" with process reliability.

Intuitive and intelligent for the right cleaning pattern

Designed as a self-learning system, the technology concept of the Nilfisk Liberty A50 is designed to react flexibly. Any cleaning path can be saved at the touch of a button via a control panel. Three cleaning modes ensure flexibility: while the "CopyCat" mode follows a pre-recorded path exactly, the machine finds its own way through the room in "Fill-in" mode. To do this, the surface only needs to be scanned once along its outer edges. The machine then does the rest of the work automatically and fills the area. The Nilfisk Liberty A50 can also be operated manually as a normal scrubbing machine. Last but not least, infrared sensors ensure an effective increase in productivity, as the machine can work in almost complete darkness. The result: reduced operating and cleaning costs.

Safe and precise at all times

The vision kit of the autonomous scrubber dryer consists of comprehensive sensor, 2D laser and 3D camera technology. Thanks to this equipment, it detects objects the size of tennis balls at a distance of up to ten meters and initiates an appropriate evasive manoeuvre. The same applies to people and objects made of glass or staircases, whereby work close to the edge is possible at all times. The integrated "SmartFlow" system guarantees automatic adjustment of the water/detergent dosage in proportion to the speed. The "REV" orbital technology also conserves resources. The vibrating scrub deck develops significantly higher physical forces.
