Digitized material flow - with eKanban and "tracking" of mobile load carriers
At the trade fair, Steute will be presenting a system that improves the overview of the material flow and thus enables more precise (replenishment) control.
A wireless network in production uses sensors to detect when a container is removed from an eKanban rack. Other types of sensors detect pallets or individual packages on pallets, while others are installed at the "stations" of tugger trains and dollies and thus track the path of components and containers in assembly. All signals - which provide a digital and complete image of the material flow - are sent wirelessly to a sensor bridge, which communicates with higher-level IT systems for material flow control (ERP, PPS, WMS, etc.) via an interface.
This creates a seamless flow of information that allows transparency from parts provision via material stations and "supermarkets" to the assembly station. In this way, nexy - as this radio and sensor-supported system solution is called - not only creates the prerequisites for demand-oriented replenishment without bottlenecks and oversized stocks. It also provides the user with a data basis to actively control and continuously optimize the material flow.
In addition, nexy provides a platform via which further functions can be controlled and organized - for example, the transfer of containers from stationary conveyor technology to AGVs (automated guided vehicles), the control of signal towers and the integration of Andon scanners for manual picking. Preconfigured software modules are available for these and other applications.
