In March, the nominees will undergo the world-renowned test in Hanover. The Cargometer, Clark, Combilift, Hubtex, Jungheinrich, Raymond, SAE, Still, Torwegge and UniCarriers brands are aiming to win in 2019. For the first time this year, there will also be a separate start-up category, for which the jury nominated ProGlove and Trône Seating. At the IFOY Audit in Hanover, experts measure the key figures of the finalists in a standardized procedure, while renowned scientists assess the innovative value of the nominated products and solutions in the IFOY Innovation Check. Specialists from the Dortmund-based Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics (IML), the Chair of Technical Logistics at the University of Dresden, the Chair of Materials Handling, Material Flow and Logistics (fml) at the Technical University of Munich and the Chair of Machine Elements and Technical Logistics at the Helmut Schmidt University in Hamburg carry out the tests.

NEW: "Startup of the Year" category

For the first time in IFOY history, two start-ups are competing in a category of the same name in 2019. ProGlove has developed a smart glove that replaces the conventional scanning gun. Employees in the manufacturing and logistics sector can use it to work faster, safer and more ergonomically, thereby significantly increasing efficiency. Each work step can be documented hands-free and direct feedback can be given directly from the smart glove to the user.

The Dutch start-up Trône Seating has also been nominated. The TRÔNE forklift seat is an ergonomic memory seat that is automatically adjusted to each driver's personal sitting position using up to five motors. In addition to the memory function for an infinite number of drivers, the software provides additional information about the use of the chair and the driver.

International jury

The highlight of the IFOY Test Days: jurors from all over Europe, Australia, Brazil, Russia and the USA travel to Hanover to assess the nominated devices. The expert jury consists of 29 renowned trade journalists from logistics media in 19 countries.

Comparison of direct competitors

"A golden rule of the IFOY test series is that the finalists are not compared with each other in their respective category, but with their competitors on the market. Only the nominee that outperforms its direct competitors in terms of innovation has a chance of taking the top spot on the podium," explains Anita Würmser, Chairwoman of the IFOY jury. The trophies will be awarded on April 26 at the IFOY Award Night in the Vienna Hofburg.
