Forklift trucks
Fleet management via Mobile Easykey for tugger trains
In 2012, BSH Hausgeräte began planning a complete production changeover at its Traunreut plant. During the planning phase, it quickly became clear that high investments were required not only for the conversion of the assembly lines, but also for the purchase of the tugger trains, and these needed to be protected. This was achieved with the Mobile Easykey fleet management system.
Two million appliances are developed and manufactured annually by 3,000 employees at the competence center for household appliances. Production focuses on 6,000 stoves per day - in countless equipment variants for the Bosch, Siemens, Neff and Constructa brands. Diversification and a high level of vertical integration required a new production process. Where pallets were previously brought to the assembly line by forklift trucks, the aim was to work more efficiently and flexibly. The new concept of assembly lines, which are loaded by tugger trains with small load carriers, was gradually implemented from 2015.
Ludwig Tradler, Logistics Planner in the Supply Chain Efficiency department: "The tugger trains from Linde, Toyota and LKE are as individual as our product range. Some of them are special constructions." Ludwig Tradler went to the LogiMAT trade fair in Stuttgart in 2015 to find out about protective measures for the tugger trains and found what he was looking for at Mobile Easykey. "The crash sensor technology led to more careful handling the day the system was introduced," says Tradler. The logistics planner continues: "Our colleagues are obviously uncomfortable asking the shift supervisor or foreman to release the device again via the master transponder after an accident."
Employee ID card as vehicle key
The works council was also convinced by the improvement in occupational safety and the guaranteed data protection. "Mobile Easykey is also very popular with employees: the employee ID card is now the 'key' to the tugger train. In the past, we often had key chaos. Now the device switches off after a defined period of time and the employee releases it with the transponder chip in their company ID card. That has convinced our colleagues! And above all, employees can now only start a tugger train or a forklift if they are authorized." The management of vehicles and drivers is also well received by BSH employees: "The modular Mobile Easykey system transmits the data from the 34 tugger trains to the Mobile Easykey Manager software via the WLAN network. This allows all vehicles to be conveniently managed and analyzed centrally. "
Also used in logistics at BSH Tranreut
Mobile Easykey is not only used in intralogistics, but also in logistics for finished appliances at BSH in Traunreut. In the spacious and high halls, stoves are piled up to the ceiling of the warehouses. Bernd Licinac is responsible for the logistics processes there and Mobile Easykey was implemented at around the same time as in the intralogistics of production - but completely independently of each other. The parent company Bosch is testing in-house tracking via camera in conjunction with the Mobile Easykey fleet management system as part of a pilot project in logistics at BSH Traunreut. 34 tugger trains and more than 60 forklifts are equipped with Mobile Easykey at BSH in Traunreut."
