Cooperation between Zalando and TGW
TGW equips Zalando logistics center
Systems integrator TGW has equipped Zalando's new fulfillment center in Lodz, Poland, with automated conveyor and sorting technology. The opening of the site on February 20 marked the expansion of the companies' existing partnership.
Zalando, an online platform for fashion and lifestyle, processes e-commerce orders in the Polish distribution center. A 13-kilometer-long conveyor system and shuttle systems from TGW support the logistics processes. In addition, four large item sorters and a 240-meter-long outbound sorter with 66 destinations are in operation.
Zalando and TGW also work closely together on maintenance and service: On-site specialists support the Zalando team with preventive maintenance and spare parts management. "In addition to the initial investment, the consideration of the total cost of ownership played a central role in the decision-making process," emphasizes Rudolf Pulkenat, Lead Warehouse Facilities Engineering at Zalando.
