Dassy: Workwear specialist expands with TGW

In Bruges, Belgium, TGW is expanding Dassy professional workwear's existing fulfillment center with a highly automated FlashPick system. The specialist for workwear and professional clothing can thus speed up deliveries and increase the productivity of its processes. Dassy is thus laying the foundations for growth in the coming years. The new highly automated solution is set to go live as early as 2021.

Dassy professional workwear was founded in 2007. As one of the leading European brands for high-quality workwear, the company can look back on 45 years of experience. Today, Dassy is active in 20 countries and supplies more than 1,000 specialist retailers. The range is designed for various sectors - from logistics to trade and road construction. Around 800,000 items are always in stock at the distribution center in Bruges, including work jackets and pants, protective equipment and safety shoes.

TGW is expanding its existing intralogistics system with FlashPick, a complete solution for automated single-item picking. The accelerated throughput enables faster delivery and later order acceptance. In the incoming goods area, a TGW robot first opens all incoming cartons fully automatically before they are placed on trays and stored in the three-aisle shuttle system with more than 50,000 storage locations. Orders are sent to PickCenter One picking workstations and from there to the dispatch area.

"The TGW solution combines high performance with intelligent software and high reliability," explains Hans de Sutter, Managing Director at TGW Benelux. "FlashPick enables Dassy to react flexibly to changes in the order structure or customer behavior and thus lays the foundation for the planned growth."
