Vanderlande launches new application for security checks
Vanderlande recently launched PAX Divest Assistant, a new self-check-in application for airport security checkpoints. The innovative solution allows passengers to go through the check-in process without the help of a security officer on site, contributing to a seamless experience and increasing security at the checkpoint.
Self-service applications are now commonplace at airports worldwide and are widely used and appreciated by passengers. However, security checkpoints lack self-check-in options and rely heavily on continuous interaction between staff and passengers. In the context of a global pandemic, airports must limit physical contact between their staff and travelers, while also taking into account limited resources.
To meet this challenge - and with a view to the future of security screening - Vanderlande developed PAX Divest Assistant. With this new concept, support staff are located remotely and can assist the passenger in need via video call. This gives the airport more flexibility and provides a safer and more pleasant working environment for employees.
"Vanderlande envisions a future where security screening is a seamless process that passengers go through without stress," said Andrew Manship, executive vice president and board member of Vanderlande. "We believe the introduction of this new solution is the next step in realizing that vision, towards a situation where efficiency and passenger experience go hand in hand."
