Every year, the F.A.Z. Institute, a subsidiary of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, awards the "Germany's Innovation Leader" certificate to German companies that play a leading role in terms of the number and quality of their patent applications. Schmalz is at the forefront in ten categories, for example in the handling of different types of goods or the processing of sheet metal or metal pipes. "We are delighted to receive this award, which not only recognizes our innovative spirit, but also the hard work behind every innovation. Our innovations of today secure our business for the future," says Dr. Kurt Schmalz, Managing Partner of J. Schmalz GmbH. "Being one of Germany's top innovative companies is something that every employee at Schmalz has every right to be proud of."

The award was preceded by a study conducted by the economic research company Prognos in cooperation with the IMWF Institute for Management and Economic Research. The study examined patent applications from a total of 150,000 companies and research institutions operating in Germany over the past ten years.
