Compact gripper
OnRobot launches new vacuum gripper on the market
OnRobot, provider of collaborative end-of-arm tooling (EoAT), presents the VGC10 Compact, a new vacuum gripper.
In doing so, the company is responding to the call from users for a small but powerful electric version. Its compact shape and reduced weight make it suitable for confined working environments. According to the company, users whose products require individual handling particularly benefit from the flexibly adaptable suction cups and arms. Two independent air channels also allow the gripper to handle different objects at the same time - speeding up processes and ensuring shorter throughput times.
With the VGC10, OnRobot aims to offer users a compact and flexible alternative to its VG10 vacuum gripper. This was launched on the market in summer 2018 and can carry up to 15 kilograms with its flexibly adjustable gripper arms. The VGC10 is smaller and lighter than its predecessor with the same performance and load capacity. The lower dead weight is particularly beneficial for robot arms with a low payload, as it gives them more power for the object to be gripped.
"Our users are already very satisfied with the VG10, but sometimes they need a more compact and even more flexible solution. With the VGC10, we have developed a space-saving vacuum gripper that can be individually configured for specific applications," says Enrico Krog Iversen, CEO of OnRobot. "We are launching another product on the market that makes it as easy as possible for manufacturers to automate their processes."
Fast implementation and easy retrofitting
The VGC10 gripper has a standardized mechanical and electrical interface as well as integrated software, which enables quick commissioning and conversion of the automation solution. The gripper is therefore compatible with a wide range of collaborative lightweight robots.
