Online tour as a highlight
Dematic continues Virtual Events with Customer Day at the Landmark Group
Dematic continues its Dematic Virtual Events on February 18 with the next Customer Day. The multinational retailer Landmark Group will open the doors of its new mega distribution center in Dubai, which was automated by intralogistics specialist Dematic.
During an online tour of the 265,000 square meter facility sections, participants will be able to take a close look at the largest Dematic Multishuttle system to date, with over 1,200 shuttles, 94 lifts and almost 950,000 storage locations, as well as a Garment-on-Hanger (GOH) system with two million garments. There will also be expert presentations on future-oriented products and industry solutions. Due to the international field of participants, the event will be held in English. The next Dematic Customer Day is already planned for March this year. The focus will then be on grocery. The Belgian grocery chain Ahold Delhaize is the best-practice customer.
"In the current situation, digital events have an important substitute function for maintaining customer contacts and communicating information. With the Dematic Virtual Events, we have created the opportunity to present our innovative solutions in a special way and at the same time provide an exclusive insight into realized projects," says Jessica Heinz, Head of Marketing Dematic Central Europe. The strong response to the previous events has clearly shown how great the interest in information about innovative intralogistics solutions is due to the absence of face-to-face events.
Once again, decision-makers, warehouse managers and supply chain managers can expect an informative and varied program at the virtual Dematic Customer Day. In particular, current and future challenges along the supply chain will be discussed. The intralogistics specialist also hopes that the exchange will provide new food for thought for the development of future solutions. "We believe it is very important to discuss current developments in the market. Only those who engage in dialog can be successful," says Heinz.
The highlight of the event is a virtual tour through the systems of the Landmark Group's new distribution center in Dubai. Participants will gain an insight into the inner workings of the state-of-the-art Dematic facility with a special presentation by Mihin Shah, Chief Supply Chain Officer at Landmark Group. Among other things, the largest Dematic Multishuttle system to date with over 1,200 shuttles, 94 lifts and almost 950,000 storage locations on up to 33 levels can be experienced in action. Up to 15,000 bins can be delivered per hour. Around two million items of clothing float in the Dematic GOH system. The Landmark Group in Dubai also operates the tallest high-bay pallet warehouse of its kind in the United Arab Emirates at 43 meters.
At the online event, top speakers will also provide more detailed insights into the Landmark Group project, including software and service, and present future-oriented solutions for intralogistics.
