Modular system for vacuum lifters expanded
Schmalz is expanding its modular system for the vacuum tube lifter of the JumboFlex series with three new operating units. Depending on the version, the new operating handles can additionally secure, simplify or speed up the handling process.
The JumboFlex Safety+, JumboFlex Easy-Release and JumboFlex Quick-Release elements are available immediately.
The JumboFlex vacuum tube lifter from J. Schmalz GmbH makes numerous handling tasks more ergonomic and productive. Users lift, lower and release the load intuitively using the central one-finger control - the proven concept. Schmalz now offers three new operating units as further alternatives for placing the load. This allows the vacuum expert to respond to specific customer requirements.
When developing the JumboFlex Safety+ operating unit, the designers focused on safety: If the user wants to release the workpiece from the vacuum tube lifter, they must operate an additional release lever with their second hand parallel to the control button. The two-hand concept protects sensitive workpieces when placing them down. Users with disabilities can also work safely with the JumboFlex Safety+. The ability to adjust the lowering speed using a screw directly on the handle provides additional safety. The Flex Safety+ is designed for all JumboFlex load ranges of 20, 35 and 50 kilograms.
The new JumboFlex Easy Release control also has an additional release lever - but with a different function and operation. As soon as the user presses the control button and additional lever, the residual vacuum is reduced. This makes depositing much easier, especially with suction-tight objects or when using large suction pads. To prevent the release lever from being actuated unintentionally and thus reducing the residual vacuum too early, it is blocked until the control button is fully depressed.
What is prevented by the locking mechanism on the JumboFlex Easy-Release is intentional with the JumboFlex Quick-Release: dropping the load from any height. The aim is to shorten the cycle time when insensitive workpieces need to be handled particularly quickly - for example in baggage handling at airports. Ejection takes place via a second control element: the release lever is attached to the operating unit, as with the JumboFlex Easy-Release. However, it is not locked here. The operator can therefore operate the lever at any lifting height. Both the Easy and Quick-Release versions are designed exclusively for the largest JumboFlex configuration with a load capacity of 50 kilograms.
