Delivery of foldable large load carriers
Cabka concludes multi-year contract with Target
Cabka, a supplier of reusable transport packaging made from recycled plastic, has signed a long-term supply contract with Target, a retailer with almost 2,000 stores in the USA.
Tim Litjens, CEO of Cabka: "This multi-year agreement and partnership with Target demonstrates Cabka's strength in developing customized solutions; an added value for both our customers and Cabka."
Jean-Marc van Maren, Chief Product Officer at Cabka: "The large collapsible containers offer customers an excellent sustainable solution. The goods are protected inside the container, resulting in less product damage and waste. There is no longer any need to use or reprocess single-use packaging and the return logistics can transport at least four times as many empty containers in one truck, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This is further enhanced by our offer to close the loop by returning used containers to the recycling process."
Over the past three years, Cabka has worked closely with Target to develop and test reusable, foldable large load carriers. Cabka provided the knowledge and ideas, while Target contributed its logistical expertise. The joint project is a successful example of Cabka's strategy of offering customer-specific solutions. Target benefits from this with a solution for reusable heavy-duty plastic containers.
Cabka and Target sign a multi-year contract: The first order promises a turnover of around 13 million euros in 2022, and Cabka expects further orders on a quarterly basis. The partnership underlines Cabka's growth strategy in the USA, particularly in large load carriers and customized solutions.
With this supply agreement, Cabka covers part of Target's long-term recycling needs and uses various waste materials as feedstock for future production.
