Expansion into Germany
PGS Group takes over ULLU pallets
With the acquisition of ULLU Paletten, the PGS Group is taking its first steps on the German market and expanding its European network. With a volume of more than 110 million new pallets per year, Germany is the largest pallet market in Europe.
This acquisition is part of the PGS Group's strategy to get closer to its customers in order to serve them quickly and expand its global offering at a European level. Given the strategic location of ULLU Paletten in Muggensturm (Baden-Württemberg) close to the French border, this acquisition is the ideal first step for the expansion into Germany.
ULLU Paletten specializes in the production of new pallets and manufactures even the smallest batch sizes in all dimensions for major customers who require a just-in-time delivery service. The 40 employees of the family business, which was founded in 1973, will join the PGS Group, which now employs more than 750 people in eight countries (France, Belgium, Spain, Germany, Latvia, Ukraine, USA and Morocco).
Luc Grauwet, CEO of the PGS Group: "We are delighted to welcome the entire ULLU pallet team. With our first branch in Germany, we are accelerating our growth strategy in Europe. So far we have not been present in this market, ULLU Pallets is therefore the ideal partner we can rely on to drive our development forward. "
Jean-Louis Louvel, founder of the PGS Group: "We have always had the ambition to continue our history at European level. With the acquisition of ULLU Paletten in Germany, the Group is opening a new, ambitious chapter that can rely on the expertise of a great team."
Lutz Müller, CEO of ULLU Paletten: "I am delighted to be handing over my company to such a strong partner as the PGS Group, which has the same values and, above all, the same strategy of technological and qualitative innovation as we do. This creates unique opportunities for both companies. Being part of the PGS Group and the first subsidiary in Germany ensures continuity and opportunities for expansion. Together with our employees, we will continue to focus on quality, reliability and first-class delivery to our customers."
